Yonderbound To Your Travel Planning Rescue

I LOVE to plan my travels. I actually get a kick out of ticking off the items on my travel planning list.

Ok. I get it. Nobody likes a show off.

That’s not to say that I don’t get overwhelmed from time to time by all the Google search results, countless guidebooks, Thorn Tree discussions and recommendations by some friend of a friend of a friend’s sister.

Yes, there are plenty of tools out there to help things along (or a friend who REALLY enjoys travel planning), but one nifty site you could use to ease the pain a little and even inspire you at the same time is Yonderbound.

The good people of Yonderbound decided to create a platform that would make it easier for travellers to plan out their destinations and sort out the somewhat massive task of finding the right accommodations.

As an added bonus, we get to share these plans with our families, friends or even travel buddies.

My very own Yonderbox profilePlan to head to Kuala Lumpur, London or Barcelona? My profile page has Yonderboxes to help.

Like most online platforms, you would need to create a profile by signing up. Once that’s done, you can start creating your own Yonderboxes which will contain a list of hotels or hostels that you may consider going to in a particular destination. Think of it as an online photo gallery with each photo album being a Yonderbox.

Searching for a place is dead easy too, as all you need to do is key in your city, dates and number of people and off you go. Your search results will come complete with prices per night and you get to filter it according to distance, lowest price (my fave!), highest price (for the luxury lovers) and even those with TripAdvisor reviews.

Fancy a hotel that seems perfect? Then just click on the little heart shape icon on the top corner and add it to your Yonderbox.

And to make things even more amazing, each accommodation you save to your Yonderbox will have details of the amenities, images of the place (important!), a little Google map (super important!), TripAdvisor reviews and the best prices you can get for the dates you want.

Yonderbound_Hostel_DetailsAll the details you need in one easy-to-read page.

How great is that really? No more sending numerous links to your friends and everyone gets a more visual idea of the places they’re about to stay at.

Another thing I really liked was that you can view your search results on a Google map. This way, you would be able to see which place serves you best in terms of closeness to public transport or tourist attractions, whatever that works for you really.

Travel planning can be a tedious affair especially when you’re doing it all by yourself. So, why not give yourself a break and try out Yonderbound.

Who knows? You may even start to enjoy the planning bit.

  1. Not a surprise you searched for Reykjavik, haha 😉 Let’s hope we both get there asap! I’ll probably make an account on Yonderbound soon too 😀
